Healthy Living Series

This series includes four interactive and engaging youth and adult workshops that promote important aspects of newcomer health.

The Nutrition workshop provides an overview of healthy eating, including healthy food choices, recommended daily intakes, and how to read food labels.  The workshop also discusses ways to promote healthy eating habits at home, and how to save money at the grocery store.

The Active Living workshop underscores the benefits of regular physical activity and discusses recommended weekly exercise requirements, types of exercise, and simple ways to improve daily activity.

Healthy Minds discusses strategies to improving overall mental health, including healthy ways to reduce and cope with stress.

The Staying Healthy workshop discusses common risk factors for disease and how to integrate the topics discussed throughout the Healthy Living series to promote health and prevent disease.
